Anger does more harm than any emotion. It not only affects your relationships with the loved ones but also causes lots of damage to your health. To control anger, the first step is to recognize the emotion and then to practise ways and means to overcome it. If you have a short temper, here are things you should possibly avoid to overcome anger.
1. You shouldn’t sleep on it
They say “never go to bed angry”. Going to sleep may reinforce negative emotions. Going to bed after an argument will make you sleep deprived.
2. You shouldn’t drive
Operating a vehicle while getting angry can be dangerous. When you are angry, you may take an impulsive decision for which you will have to regret for the rest of your life.
3. You shouldn’t vent
When you utter mean, hurtful words it tends to make you feel guilty. Various online spats have occurred due to anger which worsens the situation. It is better to take a deep breath and avoid the situation when you are angry.
4. You shouldn’t eat
According to experts, the digestive system takes a backseat when you are angry. Hence, your food doesn’t get digested properly, thereby, resulting in the damage of health.
5. You shouldn’t be arguing
It doesn’t make sense to prove yourself right. It results in making the situation complex. Hurtful things can damage the relationship to a great extent.
6. You shouldn’t post about it on facebook
It may make you feel embarrassed later on.
7. You shouldn’t drink alcohol
Alcohol can make you worse because it removes impulse control.
Finally, it is upto you to harness your life. You are the creator of your own life. Do not let the seeds of anger make your life look ugly. Meditate and practise compassion. It is the best way to heal from anger.
