The concept was developed by former American football player Matt Miller, who happens to love yoga. Broga Yoga is targeted at men who want to improve their strength and flexibility, but don’t want to do it in a class populated by females who are chanting and doing one flowy move after another. Even athletic men tend to have difficulty with flexibility, which can be embarrassing if they are surrounded by a roomful of uber-flexible women. In Broga classes, they have the freedom to stretch their hamstrings, while also getting an intense full body workout.
Broga takes a more rugged approach to the practice of yoga, prioritising the physical over the spiritual. Surprisingly however, a lot of women are also interested in this type of workout, so Broga classes have a lot of women in them as well!
